Fedor Emelianenko vs. Andrei Arlovski announced…

Affliction just confirmed that Arlovski and Fedor will headline their October 11th show in Las Vegas. I like how their organization has a 3 month break in between events. Gives them time to stack the card and give viewers some time to get excited rather than to have events one or two times per month. Both and Andrei made some serious bank at Banned.

Fedor Emelianenko: $300,000 (no win bonus) (Rumor is he earned $1.5 mill)

Affliction: Banned & Fight Night: Silva vs. Irvin results…

Topping off a great night of fights were quick and impressive wins for the headliners of both cards, Anderson Silva and Fedor Emelianenko. About a minute into round 1, Silva caught an Irvin low kick with his left hand and used his right hand to put Irvin on his ass for good. In the Affliction event, Fedor came out aggressive with a flurry of rights and lefts that put Sylvia on the canva before locking in a rear naked around 30 seconds into the fight. Tim Sylvia on opponent Fedor Emelianenko…

Tim Sylvia sat down to discuss his July 19th matchup with Fedor Emelianenko and his strategy going into the fight. The bout is taking place in Dallas, Texas under HDNet Fights, Mark Cuban’s company. It is also being promoted by Affliction. Based on Fedor’s past opposition alone I’m picking him for an easy win. Tim Sylvia might be able to keep the Russian off him with his jab for a bit, but if Randy Couture was able get to him to the ground and control him, I’m pretty sure Fedor will have no problems doing the same. Tim’s takedown defense better be tight as hell come July.
