North American Union? WTF?!?

12 02 2008

This is outside of the general MMA, Sports, Streetwear format that I tend to abide by, but when I made Bigsteez I made it as an open format blog.  That being said I couldn’t ignore this rather disturbing video sent by Manny.  I guess it wasn’t too surprising but its still rather sad and morally shocking.  I’m starting to think Obama is gonna get assasinated if he gets elected cuz I don’t think he would be feeling this North American Union bullshit.  I know I’m not feeling it.  If you can, send this video to your friends.

Peter Jackson to produce “The Hobbit”…

18 12 2007

Peter Jackson

The Lord of The Rings Trilogy prequel is to be executive produced by Jackson who directed the trilogy.  The fantasy blockbuster smash grossed nearly 3 billion worldwide so “The Hobbit” will be an easy Billion or so lay up.  Filming is slated for 2009 for a two part prequel… one to be released in 2010 and the other in 2011.  I read the Hobbit in 6th grade and its still one of my favorite stories.  Definitely should live up to if not exceed the trilogy.

“I Am Legend” by Robert Matheson…

Robert Matheson’s “I Am Legend”

With the movie dropping tomorrow, I thought I drop a post about the origin of the story, Robert Matheson’s novel I Am Legend – published in 1954.  I’ve been amped up to see this movie for multiple reasons; I love vampire/zombie movies, I love New York City, and I love end of the world scenarios as well as different authors and directors take on all of the above.  Apparently its a riveting read and I intend to grab a copy ASAP.  Also researching this I learned that this book has had two film adaptations, I Am The Last Man On Earth as well as The Omega Man starring Charlton Heston.  From the hype it looks like both the movie and the book deliver so check’em out.

Think And Grow Rich

This book is a must have for anyone tryna stack big money.  Its sold 30 million copies worldwide so you know its an official piece of literature.  Published in 1937 by Napoleon Hill after a thorough study of extremely wealthy people, namely Andrew Carnegie, this book outlines thirteen Principles for Success.  I read it years ago but just dipped back into it as I’ve been playing around with “Autosuggestion” and “The Subconcious Mind” principles.  Put this on your Chirstmas list. Now.

Nelson George’s “Hip Hop America”…

If you think you know alot about hip hop, you need to read this book because if you haven’t, truth is you probably don’t.  I read this a few years back but I’m due for a reread cuz its really that good.  Rolling Stone called George, “The most insightful hip hop writer on the planet” and I would have to agree.  Here’s a brief overview.

Nelson George offers an insider’s tour through a multimedia phenomenon of which rap music is only the audible manifestation, and also includes drugs, fashion, incarceration, basketball, entrepreneurship, technology, and language. Examining hip hop as music, a style, a business, a myth, and a moral code, he turns hip hop over to look at the ways it has been treated by Hollywood, Madison Avenue, and Wall Street to reach not just young black consumers but all young people.

Christina Aguilera

Just got the latest issue of Maxim Magazine and Christina Aguilera looks so f’in fine I had to share.  Also she gets a double-chest-level high-five from me for titling a song on her new album called F.U.S.S.  standing for Fuck U Scott Storch…  Apparently he’s a little whiny ass bitch and she called him out.  Storch must be on some gay shit or something, why wouldn’t you wanna work with her?  Click her pic for more perkiness on Maxim Online…
